Charging Ram – defense for a front tackle.

  • Step 1
    • Slide your left foot toward 3:00 to form a right front twist stance facing 9:00,
    • Deliver a left outward palm downward parry to the outside of your attacker’s left arm,
    • Your right hand cocks high.
  • Step 2
    • Pivot counter clockwise to form a right neutral bow stance facing 9:00,
    • Deliver a right inward overhead handsword strike to the back of your opponent’s neck,
    • Left hand covers low.
  • Step 3
    • Slide your right foot back into a 45° cat stance (transitional),
    • Deliver a right front snapping instep kick to your opponent’s solar plexus or left rib cage.
    • Immediately follow with a left front snapping ball kick to your opponent’s face or solar plexus (this should be done in a chicken kick fashion).
  • Step 4
    • Without planting your left foot;
    • Left front crossover and cover out toward 1:30.

Parting Wings – defense for a high two-hand push.

  • Step 1
    • Step back toward 6:00 with your right foot to form a left neutral bow stance,
    • Simultaneously deliver a left and right extended outward block to the inside of your opponent’s wrists.
  • Step 2
    • Pivot counterclockwise to form a left forward bow stance,
    • Deliver a right thrusting inward (palm up) handsword strike to your opponent’s left floating ribs,
    • Your left hand cocks near your right ear.
  • Step 3
    • Pivot clockwise to form a left neutral bow stance.
    • Deliver a left outward handsword strike.
    • Your right hand cocks at the center of your chest in a middle knuckle fist position.
  • Step 4
    • Pivot counterclockwise to form a left forward bow stance.
    • Slide your left hand down your opponent’s torso,
    • Deliver a right vertical thrusting middle knuckle fist strike to your opponent’s solar plexus.

Obstructing the Storm – defense for a front overhead club strike.

  • Step 1
    • Step toward 10:30 with your left foot to form a horse stance facing 1:30,
    • Deliver a right over left upward cross block to your opponent’s right wrist.
  • Step 2
    • Catch the opponent’s right wrist with your right hand.
    • Deliver a left Inward thrusting forearm strike to your opponent’s right elbow,
    • Slide your left foot toward 1:30, in front of your opponent’s right leg, to form a left neutral bow stance.
    • Pull your opponent’s right wrist in, down and past your right hip,
    • Roll your right arm horizontally forcing your opponent’s right arm down,
  • Step 3
    • Deliver a right thrusting knee kick to your opponent’s head or chest
    • Yank the club out of your opponent’s hand with your right hand,
    • Your left arm maintains a low check on your opponent’s right arm or shoulder.
  • Step 4
    • Plant your right foot back to point of origin.
    • Deliver a right upward lifting back knuckle or club strike to your opponent’s face.
  • Step 5
    • Left front crossover and cover out toward 7:30

Swinging Pendulum – defense for a right roundhouse kick.

  • Step 1
    • Slide your left foot counter clockwise toward 4:30 to form a right neutral bow stance facing 10:30.
    • Deliver a universal block to the inside of your opponent’s right leg (preferably at the knee).
  • Step 2
    • Shuffle (push-drag) forward toward 10:30,
    • Deliver a right outward downward hammerfist strike to your opponent’s groin,
    • Simultaneously deliver a left vertical outward block to check high
  • Step 3
    • Slide your left foot counter clockwise toward 1:30 into a right neutral bow facing 7:30,
    • Deliver a right rear vertical snapping obscure elbow strike (obscure elbow) to your opponent’s chin.
    • Left hand covers the middle area.
  • Step 4
    • Crossover and cover out toward 2:30.

Cross of Destruction –  defense for a rear two-hand choke.

  • Step 1
    • Tuck your chin into your chest,
    • Grab your opponent’s wrists with both of your hands,
    • Step toward 9:00 with your left foot to form a horse stance.
  • Step 2
    • Slide your right foot back toward 7:30 into a left neutral bow stance facing 1:30.
    • Cross your opponent’s left arm over your head, crossing his left arm over his right.
    • Pull your right arm toward your right hip
  • Step 3
    • Deliver a right front thrusting ball kick to the inside of your opponent’s right knee cap.
  • Step 4
    • Plant your right foot forward toward 1:30 to form a right neutral bow stance.
    • Pull with your left arm and push with your right arm to twist the opponent’s arms breaking or dislocating his elbow(s).
  • Step 5
    • Right front crossover and cover toward 10:30.

 Hooking Wings – defense for a low two-hand push.

  • Step 1
    • Step back toward 6:00 with your left foot to form a right neutral bow stance facing 12:00,
    • Deliver left and right outward downward hooking parries (shape of the crane) to the inside of your opponent’s wrists.
  • Step 2
    • Slide your right foot back into a right transitional 45° cat stance
    • Immediately deliver a right front snapping ball kick to your attacker’s groin.
    • Your left hand covers low as your right hand cocks high
  • Step 3
    • Plant forward into a right neutral bow stance facing 12:00
    • Deliver a right inward downward diagonal hammerfist strike to your opponent’s left jaw hinge
    • Continue the motion (in a figure 8 pattern) to deliver a right outward downward diagonal back knuckle strike to your opponent’s right jaw hinge.
    • Your left hand checks at solar plexus level.
  • Step 4
    • Shuffle forward (push-drag)
    • Deliver a right upward elbow strike to your opponent’s chin.
    • Your left hand continues to check.
  • Step 5
    • Deliver a right downward heel palm claw to your opponent’s face with the heel palm going to the bridge of your opponent’s nose as you claw his eyes and face.
  • Step 6

Sleeper –  defense for a right straight punch.

  • Step1
    • Step forward with your left foot on a 45° angle toward 11:00 into a left neutral bow stance facing 12:00,
    • Deliver a left inward block to the outside of your opponent’s right arm,
    • Allow your right arm to hang naturally by your side.
  • Step 2
    • Pivot counterclockwise to form a left forward bow stance.
    • Deliver a right inward upward diagonal wrist strike to the left side of your opponent’s neck.
    • Your left hand is checking your opponent’s right arm.
  • Step 3
    • Slide your right foot behind your opponent’s right leg into a modified horse stance,
    • Your left hand grabs your right wrist from behind your opponent’s neck,
    • Press in and downward against your opponent’s neck.
    • Pivot toward 10:30 into a left forward bow stance,
  • Step 4
    • Slide your left foot back toward 4:30 forcing your opponent to the ground,
    • Deliver a right knee drop into your opponent’s right ribcage, putting yourself in a left close kneels stance,
    • Deliver a right vertical punch to your opponent’s face,
    • your left hand is pushing your opponent’s arm across his body to keep it in check.
  • Step 5
    • Shift your right foot toward 12:00
    • Execute a left front crossover as you rise up
    • cover out toward 10:30

 Spiraling Twig – defense for a rear bear hug, arms free.

  • Step 1
    • Step toward 3:00 with your right foot to form a horse stance,
    • deliver right and left inward middle knuckle strikes to the back of your opponent’s hands,
    • Drop your elbows to pin both of your opponent’s arms.
    • Grab your opponent’s right hand with both hands, making sure that your thumbs are on top (back of your opponent’s hand) and your fingers are inside his palm.
  • Step 2
    • Step toward 1:30 with your left foot to form a left neutral bow stance,
    • Start twisting your opponent’s wrist clockwise,
    • Pivot clockwise as you execute a right reverse step through into a left neutral bow stance, facing 7:30.
    • Continue twisting your opponent’s right wrist clockwise in a tight circle close to your body,
    • Apply the wrist lock.
  • Step 3
    • Pull the opponent’s right arm past your right hip.
    • Deliver a right front snapping ball kick to your opponent’s right ribs..
  • Step 4
    • Plant your right foot forward to form a right neutral bow stance facing 7:30,
    • Deliver a right underhand stiff-arm back knuckle to your opponent’s face

Defying the Storm – defense for a right inward roundhouse club strike.

  • Step 1
    • Step toward 11:00 with your right foot to form a right neutral bow stance facing 11:00
    • As you plant your right foot, try to buckle the inside of your opponent’s right knee.
    • Deliver a left extended outward handsword strike to your opponent’s right wrist
    • Deliver a right inward handsword strike to your opponent’s right biceps.
  • Step 2
    • Grab your opponent’s right wrist with your left hand.
    • Grab the back of your opponent’s right elbow with your right.
    • Step back with your right foot towards 4:30 to form a left forward bow stance facing 10:30.
    • Push your opponent’s right wrist away while pulling and rolling your opponent’s right elbow down and toward you to snap your opponent’s right elbow.
  • Step 3
    • Deliver a right upward knee strike to your opponent’s sternum.
  • Step 4
    • Plant your right foot forward into a right neutral bow stance.
    • Deliver a right inward overhead elbow strike to your opponent’s upper spine.
    • Maintain control of your opponent’s right wrist.
  • Step 5
    • Execute a right front crossover and double cover out toward 7:30

 

Tripping Arrow —  front bear hug, arms free.

  • Step 1
    • Step toward 9:00 with your left foot to form a horse stance,
    • Your left hand grabs your opponent’s right shoulder and pulls downward,
    • Deliver a right inward horizontal heel palm strike to your opponent’s left jaw hinge (finger in, thumb down).
  • Step 2
    • Circle your right foot clockwise, around and behind your opponent’s right leg (toward 4:30) and buckle it by planted firmly into a horse stance,
    • Simultaneously circle your right hand counter clockwise, delivering a right overhead inward downward elbow strike to your opponent’s chest as you cock your right hand, palm up and out, at your right shoulder.
  • Step 3
    • Pivot counterclockwise toward 9:00 form a left forward bow stance,
    • Deliver a right thrusting heel palm strike to your opponent’s jaw,
    • Maintain a grab on your opponent’s right arm with your left hand as he falls to the ground and reinforce this by grabbing with the right hand as well.
  • Step 4
    • Pull upward on your opponent’s right arm with both of your hands,
    • Deliver a right thrusting heel stomp into your opponent’s right armpit.
  • Step 5
    • Release your opponent’s arm,
    • Sweep your opponent’s right arm with a right front crossover sweep toward 4:30

Hugging Pendulum – defense for a right side kick.

  • Step 1
    • From a right neutral bow stance, shuffle back (push-drag) toward 7:30
    • Deliver a right outward diagonal downward block to the outside of your opponent’s right leg.
    • Your left hand covers high.
  • Step 2
    • Execute a left front crossover,
    • Cross your right hand (palm up) to your left hip,
    • Your left hand positionally checks high as you deliver a right knife-edge kick to the inside of your opponent’s left knee.
  • Step 3
    • Plant your right foot forward into right neutral bow stance.
    • Deliver a right outward horizontal back knuckle strike to your opponent’s right temple or mastoid.
    • Immediately follow with a right inward horizontal hooking heel palm claw to the left side of your opponent’s face.
  • Step 4
    • Execute a right front crossover
    • Cover out toward 7:30.

Thrusting Wedge – defense for a high two-hand push.

  • Step 1
    • Step forward toward 12:00 with your right foot and form a right forward bow stance,
    • Thrust both, your right and left, forearms up and forward, like a wedge, to the inside of your opponent’s arms.
    • Continue the flow of action by delivering two rolling upward-outward claws to your opponent’s eyes.
  • Step 2
    • Pivot counterclockwise into a right fighting horse stance.
    • Deliver a right upward elbow strike to your opponent’s chin.
    • Slide your left hand down your opponent’s right arm to his right wrist, grab his right wrist and pull down past your left hip.
  • Step 3
    • Pivot clockwise into a right neutral bow stance.
    • Deliver a right downward hammering heel palm claw to your opponent’s face (the palm should hit the nose and the fingers continue downward into the eyes).
  • Step 4
    • Execute a right front crossover and cover out twice toward 7:30.

Crossed Twigs –  defense for a rear double wrist grab.

  • Step 1
    • Counter grab both of your opponent’s wrists with your hands,
    • Step toward 1:30 with your left foot to form a right reverse bow stance,
    • Pull your opponent downward and forward with both of your hands.
  • Step 2
    • Pivot clockwise to form a right neutral bow stance facing 7:30,
    • Deliver a right outward upward elbow strike through your opponent’s right jaw as you cross your opponent’s arms (right over left).
  • Step 3
    • Pivot clockwise into a right forward bow stance facing 7:30
    • Continue the flow of action of your right arm, crossing your opponent’s arms, by pulling his right arm down and behind you.
  • Step 4
    • Release your grasp with your right hand,
    • Deliver a right inward overhead elbow strike to your opponent’s upper spine,
  • Step 5
    • Release your grip with your left hand,
    • Deliver simultaneous right and left downward heel palm strike’s to your opponent’s left kidney and left rib cage, grabbing and pinching them,
